Program Philosophy

Kindergarten at ACA
Alexander

The Asheville Christian Academy Kindergarten program is designed to minister to the needs of the whole child in a nurturing, positive environment. Each child is viewed as a unique individual created by God. It is our desire that each child develops a love for God and His Word through Bible lessons and daily teaching that reflects God’s Word as inerrant truth.

By incorporating a variety of teaching strategies, the instructional program provides age-appropriate activities while laying a sturdy foundation for future learning. The curriculum is designed to challenge and encourage each child to become an active learner through large and small group instruction. We use a carefully planned course of academic study that includes the following curricula: Christian Schools International (Bible), Open Court (Reading and Language Arts), Handwriting Without Tears, and Harcourt Math. Each week children have special classes in music, PE, art, and library which complete a well-rounded course of instruction.
