Kids raising hands in ACA Kindergarten

Kindergarten at ACA

The Asheville Christian Academy Kindergarten (K5) program is designed to minister to the needs of the whole child in a nurturing, positive environment.  Each child is viewed as a unique individual created by God.  Our desire is that each kindergartner develops a love for God and His Word.  Incorporating a variety of teaching strategies, the instructional program provides developmentally appropriate activities while laying a sturdy foundational base for future learning.  Intellectual, social, emotional, physical and spiritual development goals are addressed through a carefully planned curriculum that includes Bible, language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, music, art and PE.  Our activities include large and small group instruction.  We strive to incorporate multiple content areas through thematic units, providing “hands-on” experiences and lessons which involve the child as an active learner.

Asheville Christian Academy offers three Kindergarten classes of 15 students each.  Classes meet all day Monday through Friday from 8:15 a.m.  – 3:00 p.m.  Kindergartners must turn 5 years of age by August 31 of the year entering.  All kindergartners receive a developmental screening with the lower school principal to confirm readiness.
