Middle School Activities
At Asheville Christian Academy, we believe that a balanced education includes social, relational and character building activities.
The Middle School years are critical for the formation of ethical and moral character. We believe that the Scriptures provide the best basis for instilling character qualities in young people. While this is primarily the responsibility of the home, Asheville Christian Academy reinforces proper social development in the context of a vibrant Christian atmosphere. Students are encouraged to commit their lives to becoming disciples of Jesus Christ. Therefore, the moral and ethical impetus is rooted in the work of the Holy Spirit and flows into an environment that has biblical standards of conduct drawn from a biblical worldview.
The Spring Banquet is an opportunity for seventh and eighth graders to exercise their class studies of etiquette and manners in a formal and fun, yet educational, evening.
Middle School Government offers opportunities for both leadership and interactive social activities such as square dances, evening game nights and scavenger hunts. The National Junior Honor Society has a strong representation of qualified students in the seventh and eighth grades. Extra-curricular activities also include Math Olympics, overnight retreats, Spiritual Emphasis week, putt-putt tournaments, Battle of the Books, science fair, geography and spelling bees. Students have ample opportunities to participate in the yearbook staff or even the chess club.
