Upper School Activities
At Asheville Christian Academy, we believe that a balanced education includes social, recreational, and character building activities. Therefore, there are many structured social opportunities and clubs that are available to Upper School students.
Retreats are required activities that are scheduled in the autumn and/or spring of each year for the purpose of building relationships, setting a spiritual pace, and spending quality time among students and faculty.
Social activities include a fall Homecoming square dance, formal Christmas banquet, Valentine's banquet, and the Junior/Senior Social.
Upper School student government offers opportunities for both leadership and fun monthly events such as the turkey chase, whitewater rafting, spring trips, and scavenger hunts.
Extra-curricular activities are available for all types of interests such as the yearbook staff, chess club, and the bridge-building club. Educational clubs include Mu Alpha Theta and the National Honor Society.
As part of Asheville Christian Academy's biblical studies program, students may become involved in community service projects under the auspices of mission organizations or local ministries such as ABCCM (Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry).
The senior trip to Washington, DC is made affordable for all students and strengthens the unity of the graduating class. Throughout the year, each class is involved in social events and service activities where students are encouraged to participate.
